XAVE ME PLEASE
On February 3, 2019, Wesley Taylor and Michael Kushner held a screening for their new short film XaveMePlease at the historic LGBT Center in Manhattan. The film, written and directed by Taylor, stars Isaac Powell (Once On This Island), Alan Filderman, Jordan Puhala, and Tyler Hardwick.
The private screening came just before producers Taylor and Kushner bring the film to the festival circuit. In attendance were friends and colleagues including Krysta Rodriguez (who starred in NBC’s Smash alongside Taylor), Grace McLean (Alice By Heart, The Great Comet), and director David Moragas.
XaveMePlease features cinematography by Kushner, sound by David Morgas, and music by Rob Morrison and Marques Walls. Mikhai Lee serves as production assistant, while Alex Wyse serves as co-editor.
On June 21, 2019 we screened at international LGBTQ+ film festival Frameline43 San Francisco. The California screening followed a showing at Hartford Connecticut's Out Film CT Festival on June 8. The film premiered in a private screening at New York's LGBT Center. Read more, here.
INDOOR BOYS
The third season of Wesley Taylor and Alex Wyse’s streaming series Indoor Boys scored 15 nominations for the 2020 Indie Series Awards, including Best Comedy Series, Best Writing – Comedy. The pair won both categories last year, with this year’s ceremony set for April 11 in Los Angeles.
Wyse and Taylor were once again nominated for their performances as Best Lead Actor and Best Supporting Actor in the comedy category, respectively. In addition, the duo earned a nod for Best Directing for the first time. To read more, visit the Playbill article, here.
MTF MULTI-HYPHENATE AWARD
Michael is honored to have won the first annual Multi-Hyphenate award, given to him by Shakina Nayfack, Mei Ann Tao, and Musical Theatre Factory. Michael is a founding member of Musical Theatre Factory. The MTF 5 Year Gala was held at Town Stages, helmed by Robin Sokoloff, a creative space for which Michael is also on the board of.
